A GUIDE TO EVENTS
Processing the Information Overload
First, do not imagine the press and media -- any press and media -- to be anything other than a party among the parties of contention. The press are as agenda-driven as anyone else with an agenda. They are not event-driven: atrocities committed by favored parties are media non-events, a characteristic that cuts across all political, religious and ideological boundaries.
Second, do not imagine error or ineptitude, especially where it is the main apparent characteristic of an event. Error and ineptitude pave the way to scape-goating, an easy way to conceal the strategic decision that led to the event. Look instead at the effect of an event to see its cause: the likely cause is intent to produce that effect.
Third, do not imagine motives to be beyond what you yourself can conceive and understand, but do not imagine that events proceed from values and motives like your own: such has not been the case. Parties have all the motives of princes with none of their restraints: look for a political or strategic purpose behind the personal desires or defects advanced to mask it.
Fourth, before asking why a regime acts savagely, ask first why it does not. The nature of police power in any party is to prevent, paralyze, and penalize savagery: savagery exists only when government fails in this purpose, which requires government to be ready to meet savagery on its own terms. Why, then, does a capable force not do so? Behind this is the answer to why it acts with savagery when and where it does.
Fifth, do not imagine that you receive real answers when you ask questions: ask questions to assess the answerer's capacity to perceive truth and integrity in telling it. Seek answers in your own observations and in your own assessments based on your own judgment of what you are offered as "facts;" and reconsider the entirety whenever a new fact becomes available to you. While truth is often apparent, "answers" seldom arise from it but from rather less; sometimes from ignorance, but always where the parties hold an advantage based on concealing the truth, which is most often.
Sixth, do not imagine that you are actually threatened: see that you are, why, how, and by whom, and continue to assess until you do. Otherwise, until you have the facts, the most dangerous threat is your own imagination: your enemies capitalize on this precise fact.
Seventh, Jews and Christians are warned to prepare for Armageddon by beating their swords into plowshares, Muslims for The Hour by becoming like the better son of Adam: instead, Jews, Christians and Muslims -- many and few -- are actively promoting Apocalypse. Avoid Messianic Apocalyptic Dementia, or believing that you (or those of your communion) are uniquely and divinely anointed and appointed to save the world, or a remnant, or to usher in a new world or a new message for the faithful, while this world falls away into the Fire. This all-time favorite tool of deception is today a main event in media circuses and more often fatal.

They are preparing for the "Infinate Crusade" which will deliver them to Allah! Judgement day is near for them and they know it.
Judgment Day occurs for everyone, it's not just near for them, it's near for everyone.
"Surely The Hour is near: I all but conceal it; to repay every person by means of what they pursue."
Those behind the terror think they have won already. You are certainly doing exactly what they intended.

"Seventh, Jews and Christians are warned to prepare for Armageddon by beating their swords into plowshares"
Bzzzzzt wrong answer again!
Christians are admonished to "watch" (for Jesus' return) and "be about the business of feeding the sheep" (paraphrase).
The "swords into plowshares" is taken from Isaiah chapter two and is actually a reference to after the return of the Lord.
ankabot, please refrain from telling others of what the Bible says until you actually know what the Bible says.

Dear ladies and gentleman, FYI we have an activist in here with nothing better to do than argue all day long. Having been asked to shut up about spreading propoganda about his religion and politics on news.grc.com, he proceeds to come here and spread more propoganda. Unemployed and scrounging off state welfare while exercising his freedom of speech which also covers telling lies and twisting anything people post and deliberately quoting out of context. You should be aware that (ankaboot) aka (Abujamal) aka (Dawud Ahmad Al-Amriki) is well known across many newsgroups as a TROLL. A visit to grc.news.feedback and grc.ten-forward a week or so back will give you an indication of what this guy is all about. He loves nothing better than to expose peoples names and addresses if they disagree with him or his activist minions. He will argue forever about nothing just for arguements sake and he is best off completely ignored as he always has to have the last word. Ignoring him completely like so many others do upsets him all the more and he goes away with his tail between his legs to spread FUD elsewhere. You will also find his propoganda on muslim groups on deja. A visit to his website at http://www.muslimamerica.net will give you an idea that this guy is a troublemaker first class. He uses 3 different email addresses that are well known muslims@earthlink.net abujamal@pchelpers.org and muslims@muslimamerica.net. Dawud Ahmad Al-Amriki, Muslim America, P.O. Box 231, Springdale, WA, 99173-0231, tel. (509) 258-9031, fax 1 (800) Muslims. Springdale, WA USA Here are some other useful details about this TROLL that is trying to hide his identity under this new alias. Beware like all TROLLS he has many aliases but he is easy to spot from his email addresses and the propoganda he spreads. He claims the only hope for America is Islam and that if you insult him that you should be careful his more militant brothers do not get to hear of it from him. Do a little research on him with the above search criteria and you will turn up alsorts of fundamentalist and radical activist crap, screaming for jihad and many more of his cut and paste ramblings posted to enflame and poke a reaction. Hey Abujamal, Give it up TROLL the game is up. We know what you are. We know what you stand for and we know what you are up to. *vome*

Salaam!
Glad you could make it. Welcome to Free Republic com, the on-line home of middle America.
Freepers, I know this poster from the computer privacy and internetworking security newsgroups hosted by Steve Gibson, who is currently helping the FBI -- at their request and in conjunction with the National Infrastructure Protection Center -- search for leads to those behind the Tuesday terrorist attack. At the request of the National Security Council through CERT (I've forgotten what that stands for), Steve Gibson has also written a basic introduction to what Americans will need to do in order to do their part in the cyber war that is also being waged by the terrorists. It will be public in a short time, you can read it now on Steve's newsgroups .
This post is *not* representative of news.grc.com/grc.news.feedback where we were discussing the Ida Code Red Worm and more lately the nimda worm, and in one newsgroup the terror war launched against America.
Expect to see more of these posts. The writer is a very hard worker and has a very dull axe to grind.
I think he's posted this to all of the Threads below.

Really.
It's difficult, to say the least, to discern what is disinformation, what is diversion, and what is factual. And some of the words attributed to Maulana Muhammad 'Umar have not been terrifically helpful, probably some of mine haven't been, either. "You filthy savage" is surely calculated to inspire rational discourse.
But "no evidence" remains "no evidence." Why would "conclusive evidence" be shown to everybody who is NOT responsible to act on it by extraditing an accused, and NOT shown to the Taliban, if only to call their bluff and expose something resembling complicity?
There are a few things that don't make sense, that's one.
Someone with a hundred airplanes doesn't need a hundred thousand pilots, either. That's another.

Is it a common practice for FBI field agents to tell folks who suspects are?
Is it a common practice for "mainstream" Muslims to pass on propaganda about Muslim scientific discoveries?
17 Posted on 10/02/2001 22:50:12 PDT by Senator Pardek
I didn't say the FBI was not looking at bin Laden -- I said the evidence trail from the Tuesday attack is pointing somewhere else. How does that make bin Laden not of interest? Please avoid putting words in my mouth, it confuses people, not just you.
Is it a common practice for FBI field agents to tell folks who suspects are?
It's pretty common practice for some FBI specialists to say "Yeah, we agree, that's what we're finding. Thanks." They're too professional to mention any actual names, but it's pretty obvious that bin Laden isn't among them. That doesn't mean the FBI isn't after him, it just means they've followed some evidentiary trails that were suggested to them and found things they hadn't known where to look for.
Is it a common practice for "mainstream" Muslims to pass on propaganda about Muslim scientific discoveries?
Like the astrolabe, the mathematics of al-Jibr (algebra), or the pharmacology of Ibn Sina (Avicenna)? It's common knowledge. Ibn Khaldun is still regarded as the father of history when you get to the graduate level in American universities, and there are some muslims who happen to know the history of a thousand years that American public schools ignore.
So sure, I'd say that it's pretty ordinary for mainstream muslims to know that the Qur'an talks about tectonic plates and the motion of the continents, the huge 100-ton balls of ice that enter the atmosphere every few seconds -- discovered by modern astronomy and upper atmospheric studies from the tunnels they bore through the infrared imagery at high altitudes just a couple of years ago, and a few other recent scientific discoveries like pulsars.
One sefaring man asked whether Muhammad had ever sailed -- and when he was told that Muhammad never even saw an ocean, he accepted Islam because, he said, the imagery in the Qur'an about storms at sea could only have been drawn from direct and intimate knowledge of such storms.
Remember now, it's important to keep people from reading the Qur'an -- 'cause then the deceptions of the Anti-Islam Brigades would be just too evident. Work hard, I'm sure you can mislead a few more before your time's up. Maybe.

Thanks! I hadn't seen that page.
I'm convinced.
All U.S. students from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) withdrew from school and flew home a couple of weeks ago -- it was on the radio here for three days running. This morning the newspaper reported that the money trail followed by the FBI led to the UAE. It also led to some other places nearby, I'm waiting to see whether that makes it into the media.
And they're not asking my advice (Duh!) -- I think they already know what I'd recommend. I don't for the life of me know why we're so reluctant to make a sea of glass here and there where it would do the most good.
But I am glad I don't have the button. I'm much too ready to push it. I do not like people who falsify religion.
