-- Excerpts from Islamic funeral prayer
People of America, thank you for your outpouring of support. I am an immigrant. Your love taught me what it means to be an American.
Abraham Lincoln, your assassin failed. Slavery is dead.
Martin Luther King, Jr., your assassins failed. Your dream is coming true.
John F. Kennedy, your assassins failed. Your death did not make us warmongers and haters, it made us love each other and other nations and cultures. The Berlin wall has come down, and we are now all Berliners.
Robert Kennedy, your assassin failed. Civil liberties were enforced.
Malcolm X, your assassins failed. All African-American Muslims, including Louis Farrakhan, have abandoned racism and rejoined mainstream Muslims.
John Lennon, your assassin failed. We can now imagine . . . We love each other as if there are no countries, and no religion, too, and yes, all we need is love.
Anwar Sadat, your assassins failed. Egypt and Israel are at peace.
Yitzhak Rabin, your assassins failed. Israelis and Palestinians are determined to make peace.
Brothers and sisters in New York, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania, your assassins failed. We will not make war for your sake, but we will make peace. We will not hate each other for your sake. We will love each other more than before. Your death will not create ignorance and prejudice, but enlightenment and unity.
Thomas Jefferson, you respected Islam and knew it well. You wrote privately to John Adams "Some hundreds of millions of Muslims (Mussulmans) expect another prophet more powerful than Muhammad (Mahomet), who is to spread Islam(ism) over the whole earth." -- Thomas Jefferson to John Adams, 1821.
You asked your friends to include Islam as a protected religion.
"... they meant to comprehend within the mantle of its protection the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan, the Hindoo and infidel of every denomination"." -- Thomas Jefferson: Autobiography, 1821
Our founding fathers knew and respected Islam, but only whispered about it to one another because of the prejudice in the old world.
America's principles are in the spirit of the Torah and the Gospel, and
the
Quran has the blueprint for our democracy and our strength.
"If you fight to protect each other's monasteries, churches, synagogues and mosques, then I shall make you victorious and give you power." Quran 22:40
America, in the Arabic language, means "the country in charge."
President Clinton, you taught America and the world that Islam is not the enemy. We have not forgotten.
The terrorists want America to declare war on Islam. They think they are the "martyrs," dying for a just cause. They are wrong. They don't understand their religion. In Islam, a martyr is one who dies as a witness against evil or a witness for goodness. They were not the martyrs.
The martyrs are their victims, our brothers and sisters in the airplanes and the towers and the Pentagon. They are witnesses against the utmost evil that the terrorists did. They are witnesses over an America that will become better than ever for their sake.
President Bush, instead of declaring war on Muslim countries, let's just punish the guilty. Let's instead finally accept that Islam is part of our spiritual heritage and part of the foundation of our way of life. Let's instead create world peace and end the war between cultures and religions that is based on myth and prejudice.
Muslims all over the world, America is not the enemy of Islam. America is the best Islamic state on earth. Americans, open your eyes. Islam is not America's enemy. Islam is our way of life.
Direct from the writer: the Register-Guard omitted some language in the print edition and the people of the region protested and asked for republication on their website. The newspaper still omitted language.
Although grateful for the opportunity to speak to the people assembled in Eugene's United Methodist Church last Friday at noon, live on radio and television, and grateful for publication and the outpouring of public support for the muslims of the region, he asked me to publish and preserve, as he "edited" it without omission, what he said.

Many good Muslims died in the terrorist attacks of Sept 11, 2001. May they find the eternal peace, and may their families be comforted; may God help us all...

Thank you Ankaboot for your courage in posting these reasonable thoughts. I agree, Islam is not the villain here however what is needed is a great gathering of all the major religious leaders including Islam to find common ground for our faiths and our peoples. I firmly believe this is the key to establishing world peace.

Turn over ALL the collaborators. Turn over ALL of those who provide aid and comfort to our enemies. Expose those who support these terrorists in word and in deed and then and only then may our anger against Muslims be cooled.

Salaam!
Turn over ALL the collaborators. Turn over ALL of those who provide aid and comfort to our enemies.
You wouldn't know a collaborator if he walked up and hit you in the mouth with a brick of pastrami. What makes you think I might?
Very simple and straightforward requests for evidence are rudely denied by our government. All we hear is woofing and hooting and suspicion.
A list of names of the terrorists was published and two of them showed up in short order -- one cooperating in Florida and one dead last year.
So later a more complete list -- this one "verified" and "confirmed" and 'Abdur-Rahman al-Omari, who I know personally, was on it -- and turned up the next day at the American embassy to ask just why.
You should ask why, yourself. Why are Arabic names released long enough to feed your prejudices and passions, only to turn out bogus? What kind of idiots do you think responsible muslim leaders are, that *anyone* would accept peremptory demands after seeing the quality of the evidence used to hoodwink the American people?
Jingoist bull. Show them some evidence. Find some evidence. Let's *ALL* take a look at it. Where is it?
There isn't any. All our elected leaders show us is supposition and myth.
Expose those who support these terrorists in word and in deed and then and only then may our anger against
Muslims be cooled.
You are perfectly entitled to bite your nails in rage all the way up to the elbows against innocent people all you want. I read what Mullah Muhammad 'Umar said to the 'ulemaa of Afghanistan. He did not call for jihad. He did not call for war. He did not call for refusal of a demand for justice. He asked for their collective views. Your media lied to you thoroughly about that meeting yesterday.
Why is your media feeding you pure demonization propaganda? Why has it been doing this for fifty years? What don't they want you to know?
Go find some muslims. See for yourself. We're all over America, some of every complexion and every level of understanding from sage to simpleton to savant to stupid and back, black, white, spotted and polka-dotted, walkin', talkin', stinkin' clay, just like you. We're Americans.
Fifteen million of us. Publicly visible Americans.
What are you? What are you becoming?
was-salaam,

Oops! I made a mistake!
I omitted language on the Register-Guard's website that the brother wanted included!
He wrote:
"Muslims all over the world, help find the guilty. America is not the enemy of Islam. America is the best Islamic state on earth."
Well, that's why muslims who come to America stay, for the most part, it's the freedom of religion that keeps muslims in America. And he wrote:
"Thomas Jefferson, you respected Islam and knew it well. You asked the founding fathers to include Islam as a protected religion:
"... they meant to comprehend within the mantle of (the constitution's) protection the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan (Muslim), the Hindoo and infidel of every denomination."
And contrary to what I initially wrote, he had deleted other language himself, the newspaper did not do that.
Oops. My mistake.
(Probably I should have known better, it's a pretty laid-back ... mellowed ... town.)
So you tell me, Freepers -- should I start over and post it as a new Thread? Or leave it here?
And his words read:
=======
"Merciful God, our brothers and sisters in the World Trade Center, in the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania, are now in your care.
"Please protect them from the trials of the grave and the torment of the fire. Indeed, you are faithful and truthful.
"Forgive them and have mercy upon them. Excuse them and pardon them, and give them an honorable reception. Cleanse them with water, snow and ice.
"Purify them from sin, as clean white robes. And comfort their families. Exchange their home for a better home and admit them into your garden."
Merciful God, we thank you for your bounties and we ask you to help us all in the hard test we are facing.
Abraham Lincoln, your assassin failed. Slavery is dead.

Muslims all over the world, help find the guilty.
The only thing that could possibly just maybe turn away our wrath is for every last guilty party to be delivered to us in chains.
How fast can you do it? We are all out of patience.

Well, our FBI has followed every lead and found red herrings, blind alleys, and wild goose chases. Every scrap of "evidence" was falsified, that's been verified by careful investigation. We do not have any idea who is behind the terrorist attack.
So perhaps you'll provide some evidence to go with those chains? So far there isn't any.
How fast can you do it? We are all out of patience.
You once had some patience? When?

Dear ladies and gentleman, FYI we have an activist in here with nothing better to do than argue all day long. Having been asked to shut up about spreading propoganda about his religion and politics on news.grc.com, he proceeds to come here and spread more propoganda. Unemployed and scrounging off state welfare while exercising his freedom of speech which also covers telling lies and twisting anything people post and deliberately quoting out of context. You should be aware that (ankaboot) aka (Abujamal) aka (Dawud Ahmad Al-Amriki) is well known across many newsgroups as a TROLL. A visit to grc.news.feedback and grc.ten-forward a week or so back will give you an indication of what this guy is all about. He loves nothing better than to expose peoples names and addresses if they disagree with him or his activist minions. He will argue forever about nothing just for arguements sake and he is best off completely ignored as he always has to have the last word. Ignoring him completely like so many others do upsets him all the more and he goes away with his tail between his legs to spread FUD elsewhere. You will also find his propoganda on muslim groups on deja. A visit to his website at http://www.muslimamerica.net will give you an idea that this guy is a troublemaker first class. He uses 3 different email addresses that are well known muslims@earthlink.net abujamal@pchelpers.org and muslims@muslimamerica.net. Dawud Ahmad Al-Amriki, Muslim America, P.O. Box 231, Springdale, WA, 99173-0231, tel. (509) 258-9031, fax 1 (800) Muslims. Springdale, WA USA Here are some other useful details about this TROLL that is trying to hide his identity under this new alias. Beware like all TROLLS he has many aliases but he is easy to spot from his email addresses and the propoganda he spreads. He claims the only hope for America is Islam and that if you insult him that you should be careful his more militant brothers do not get to hear of it from him. Do a little research on him with the above search criteria and you will turn up alsorts of fundamentalist and radical activist crap, screaming for jihad and many more of his cut and paste ramblings posted to enflame and poke a reaction. Hey Abujamal, Give it up TROLL the game is up. We know what you are. We know what you stand for and we know what you are up to. *vome*

GOD! That those who would kill SO MANY innocents would be THAT DIFFERENT in appearance from the "Rest of Us!" Would that they were "Painted Blue," or some other, glaring, sign of their beliefs!
But we Do have "Assassins" among us, & Most of them claim "ISLAM" is their justification.
However much the Burden, Americans of the Islamic faith now have a SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITY to "police" their fellows.
NO American wishes harm on our fellows (except in a kind of "mock rivalry" in sporting events), but IF your "fellows" are--however Inadvertently--harboring psychopaths capable of the type of "kamikaze" delusions resulting in 9/11, NOW would be a "really good time" to let the "Authorities" know.
Apparently, MANY lives are now at risk.
The "Embarrassment" of having these psychopaths in your midst ISN'T WORTH their danger.
Your fellow Americans would GREATLY APPRECIATE your honest citizenship!

Monday, 24 September, 2001, 14:40 GMT 15:40 UK Text of Taleban leader's speech
Text of the speech by the Taleban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar from the Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press news agency:
America shouldn't be mistaken. My death or the death of Osama (Bin Laden) will not bring America out of this crisis.
If America wants to root out terrorism and intimidation, then it should withdraw its forces from the Gulf and demonstrate neutrality over the issue of Palestine.
It should release Islam, which it has taken hostage in a spiritual form and should stop further interference.
A good example of Islam as a hostage is the present situation which they (the Americans) have created in Afghanistan. They want the end of the Islamic order; they want to create disorder, and they want a pro-American government.
In this case, where will the taste of Islam be for Muslims, and how angry and in what poor conditions will Muslims be? They (the Americans) have done this in many Islamic countries.
America has no alternative in these affairs to locking itself in a bloody war in which it will burn itself and others, and which will have no result.
The American people and the government should consider this oppressive and ugly policy, which tells each Muslim: Accept my words; if not I will throw an atomic bomb on you and will close off the holes through which sustenance can reach you.
These are all facts. The distance travelled by a lie is short.
No words of remorse for the innocent dead, just stupid verbal diarrhea, which means nothing. Language of a mental defective, but his days and the days of his regime are numbered. American Moslems better support their new country even more than native Americans if they want to be accepted.
If they justify or condone the words of the pathological Taliban murderers, they better get out of this country while the going is still good.

Glad you could make it. Welcome to Free Republic com, the on-line home of middle America.
Freepers, I know this poster from the computer privacy and internetworking security newsgroups hosted by Steve Gibson, who is currently helping the FBI -- at their request and in conjunction with the National Infrastructure Protection Center -- search for leads to those behind the Tuesday terrorist attack. At the request of the National Security Council through CERT (I've forgotten what that stands for), Steve Gibson has also written a basic introduction to what Americans will need to do in order to do their part in the cyber war that is also being waged by the terrorists. It will be public in a short time, you can read it now on Steve's newsgroups .
This post is *not* representative of news.grc.com/grc.news.feedback where we were discussing the Ida Code Red Worm and more lately the nimda worm, and in one newsgroup the terror war launched against America.
Expect to see more of these posts. The writer is a very hard worker and has a very dull axe to grind.
I think he's posted this to all of the Threads below.

We do not have any idea who is behind the terrorist attack.
You mean to tell me that out of all the "good, peaceful, moderate" so called American Muslims, you don't know a thing?
I have held various discussions and negotiations, with middle eastern types. Your claim to ignorance, is typical of the rhetorical tactics, well recognised by anyone with similar experience. FYI your charities are now known, as fundraising fronts for continued terrorism.
If you want to help find the guilty, enlist in the American military, and put your life on the line, as previous generations have willingly done. If you could qualify.

Apparently I was unclear -- "we" in that sentence is "we Americans." The FBI has no idea who is behind the terror war. That's what muslim community leaders are being told.
I have held various discussions and negotiations, with middle eastern types. Your claim to ignorance, is typical of the rhetorical tactics, well recognised by anyone with similar experience. FYI your charities are now known, as fundraising fronts for continued terrorism.
That's jingoistic nonsense. The Israelis have been trying to shut down legitimate relief organizations for years. Be that as it may, ...
I haven't been a "middle eastern type" to the best of my memory, which only goes back as far as being born in Oregon. For those of you east of the Mississippi, Oregon is in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.
Certainly I have an idea of who is behind it, I have more than one suspect. But I'm in the same situation as the FBI and the rest, I do not have enough information -- hard information, evidentiary quality -- to even draw any inferences that rise above sheer theoretical speculation.
Well, mostly. Whatever I might have of substance is already in the hands of the proper investigators. Spent some conversation time this morning with a couple of county prosecutors I've known for years, actually. The terrorists around here are White Supremacists, I don't know any of them (that I know about). If you want to help find the guilty, enlist in the American military, and put your life on the line, as previous generations have willingly done. If you could qualify.
I'm a Vietnam-era disabled veteran. I suppose the army could make some kind of exception, but the place I could be more effective would be in intelligence analysis. Our analysis has been distorted by partisan and ideological influences, there are gaps in what can be made intelligible. That's already on deck, it doesn't require enlisting.
Guess you need to keep seeking, you haven't found anything here. It's really quite amusing to watch people take potshots that miss me so completely. Lots of anger getting vented, I don't mind since it probably makes you all feel better and it certainly doesn't hurt me.

Populist rhetoric doesn't make him look good and it doesn't make you look good either. Intemperance is not a great confidence-builder.
Probably that was not a really smart speech for 'Umar, it looks like he's under some pressure and it's not exactly calculated to achieve any realizable strategic objective. Looks more like "Well, we need to say something here," and that's not really a good reason to make such comments.
If you think that he is sensible or intelligent you are really sick.
I try to avoid underestimating people until they prove their incompetence. "Cunning" implicates intelligence and sense of a kind, I don't think those are effective criteria for developing prognoses.
