1.  Alif Lam Meem Sad

2.  A Book sent down to you -- so let there be no difficulty in your heart from that -- that you may warn with it, and a reminder to those who keep faith.

3.  Follow what has come down to you from your Lord, and follow not friends, disregarding Him.  How little it is you remember!

4.  And how many a town have We destroyed!  Then there came to it Our calamity, while they passed the night or while they napped;

5.  Then no plea had they, when there came to them Our calamity, except what they said:  "Surely, we are lost!"

6.  Then surely, We will question those We sent,

7.  Then We will instruct them with Science -- and We were never concealed.
