If you want copies of the PMs, ask Down_South. Kudzu tells me that he has them.

I disagree. Simply because Kudzu allegedly had the information doesn't mean she had to use it to cause harm to his reputation/family relations in real life. The burden of guilt is squarely on Kudzu/WRS.

Any "counter-drama" is because I dislike the smell of this probably at least as much as you, tc, JSI and others who have already posted to this thread, demonstrably dislike Kudzu and WRS. I accept there are reasons for that dislike and make no comment on the justice or otherwise thereof.

Yes, it seems if banning is proposed for an issue as complex as this, based upon the evidence of one accuser, then surely some form of trial would be appropriate, even if it is only allowing those charged to defend themselves and then JD reaching a decision.

Can you suggest a format, and then perhaps this matter can move to the public forum rather than canvassing a lynch mob in the back room where the tagets cannot defend themselves?

WRS posts little picture gifs in his posts. Then he reads his logs to see who was served the pictures. Then he tries to puzzle out who you are.

What a scoundrel. Is there any other way to block this garbage? I hate turning pics on and off. Why doesn't this loser get an f*ing life?

Two distinct questions are before us.

1) Are these allegations true?

2) If true, do they warrant action against the perpetrators on the part of LF?

I'd say the answer to the second question is a resounding YES.

Only the first question needs an answer in my mind.

So she is a scumbag. But if he did not act on his desire to share intimate details of his life with a total stranger on the internet, we wouldn't be here talking about this. Personal responsibility.

Why? Please explain to us idiots.

Because the pics could be hosted on a machine to which certain individuals, such as fellow posters, could have access to the logs. The logs detail IP information, as well as times. That said, if you view a person's posted pic, and make a comment to that pic, a time stamp is made with your post that can be compared to the logs on the host machine, and some decent inferrences made as to your basic geographical location, using the IP.

I'd first suggest a simple inquiry into the facts of the case.

If those involved do not contest the facts, then the only question to be answered remains whether or not such a situation is actionable on the part of LF.

If the facts are called into question, then a free-market trial may be in order.

Judges need to be agreed upon by the princples (or their designees).

The procedure can be specified later.

The results would of course be binding.

If you can get a decent match on a person who responds to that pic, on a lightly viewed thread, in fact it can give you a fair idea.

It just takes some work and watching a thread for signs of life.

On a heavily trafficed thread it would become much more difficult.

Again, these are still just detailed allegations at this point but I think it is clear that the spirit if not the letter of LF is that posts are anonymous and should not be used w/o that person's consent. If JSI's recap is true, then this young man has been put in a terrible spot. This is Stasi-type ruthlessness. Again, Kudzu and WRS have goals other than liberty.

The connection of Z and Muslim is not alleged to have been made by PM's.

The allegation is that it was made and revealed via WRS's time-tested graphic IP sniffer technique.

Let me try and explain the sequence of events as I understand them. tc can correct me if I am wrong.

1. Muslim sent a series of PMs to Kudzu, containing intimate details of his private life.
2. Muslim suddenly had an epiphany and converted from from a pro-Muslim to an anti-Muslim jihadi overnight.
3. He came back to the forum as ZaphodBeeblebox, displaying his new form of fanaticism.
4. WRS, snooping on IP as usual, figured out that Zaph and Muslim had the same address and posted this fact on the forum. He goes to school in Toronto.
5. ansar, who knows Zaph's family in Saudi Arabia, saw this
6. Zaph let it out the forum to WRS that he had lived in many Muslim countries
7. WRS responded "you don't know what you just revealed about yourself" and Zaph let it slide.
8. WRS and ansar got Zaph's father an account on the board so that he could see what his son was saying.
9. Zaph's father called him and he tried to deny that beeb and muslim were the same person.
10 So WRS produced the PMs as proof.
11. His father wound up in the hospital briefly and his mother is heartbroken.

WRS is now trying to get him kicked out of school.

And to follow up there are the repeated thinly veiled threats of harrassing lawsuits to punish anyone who dares to cross him.

ZaphrodBeeblebrox has been posting to Liberty Forum from what appears to be Muslim's machine ~ same operating system, same browser, same system changes reflected in the packet headers, same IP address ~ ever since he's been here. Of course that doesn't prove anything, maybe they're roommates in the same dormitory, using the University's ISP, and it's all happenstance. But the fact is interesting.

And Zaprox started posting on this Thread at 11:39pm on Wednesday (Pacific Time but that does NOT identify the time zone that he's posting from), continued to 5:16am (an hour and a half after I'd gone to bed), took an eight-hour break and returned at 1:23pm, for half an hour, then left for six hours, returning at 7:42pm on Thursday until 9:20pm, took a two-hour break and came back at 11:59pm and was still on when I went to bed at 1:05am. During that time he refreshed the pages from this Thread over seventy-five times, sometimes less than a minute apart.

So I suspect he wasn't trolling any other Threads during those 25.5 hours that I was refining my writing on The Hoax Of The Age Of Pisces. But will I get an award for public service? Noooooo....

God bless him for his patience ...

God forgive me for pure self-indulgence. I was really hoping he'd be ready for prime time, I think he shows a lot of promise, masquerading like that.

Oops ... that presumes Zaprox to be Muslim, which isn't proven.

Well, Zaprox is a lot of enthusiasm and concentration going to waste. But he likes Mayflower Musa, so maybe there's some hope for him.

The burden of guilt is squarely on Kudzu/WRS.

They didn't rat him out--they just discovered a violation. I think its forbidden to use two different names when posting--if for some reason you have to abandon one, you gotta tell the management.

I am pretty sure that anytime we post to a thread, the time of that post is recorded and printed in the page. Immediately after we post to a thread, we are immediately taken back to the refreshed thread.

In the case of posting to a thread the correlation is probably 100%.
